The Whinger & The White Stuff

Snowy, Snowy Road

Snowy, Snowy Road

So last night we had more snow in London than we’ve had in the past 18 years.

Pretty, huh?

But a right royal pain in the ass?

Erm yep.

I know some people like the snow.  But I don’t. It’s one of the numerous ways in which I’m a nasty old whinge pants.

I think it’s pretty, and I like it, just so long as I don’t have to go out in it. And it drives me loopy la la that despite the fact that we get a little bit of snow EVERY single year - the second the white stuff starts falling the whole of London grinds to a halt.

Despite the fact that we knew the snow was coming, they (and by they I mean those useless bureaucrats I pay my extortionate taxes to) seemingly didn’t consider gritting the roads to be a priority.

This morning the trains weren’t running, the buses weren’t running, half the tube network wasn’t running.

Fortunately I need none of those things to get to work as I can walk in. Consequently whilst everyone else was making snowmen I was doing the invoicing. Sucks to be me.

On a more positive note my faith was restored in young people today - I walked past a large gaggle of teenagers all armed with snowballs as big as footballs.

I fully expected them to chuck them at me.

To be fair, I probably would have done when I was teenager.

But they didn’t - the youth of today, are significantly better behaved than the youth of my day.

“But they didn’t - the youth of today, are significantly better behaved than the youth of my day.”

You obviously walk nowhere near my route to work- thousands of the little buggers who should have been in school all armed with not even snowballs, big blocks of ice. If they’re able to walk to where they were and terrorize people, they’re able to walk to school frankly! Fortunately, I was kitted out in all my Dad’s ski gear and hiking boots so was able to hot-foot it across ice quicker than them.

    Still, cunts.

I stand corrected. Send ‘em all to Feltham Young Offenders - bloody hoodlums!

    The youth of today? Bah…

I blame the parents… and the schools… and the government.

    …Now where’s my Daily Mail

Erm, I feel the need to clarify right now I in no way advocate reading the Daily Mail… In a scientific studies it’s been proven to cause extreme stupidity, and intolerance.
